Ashby Estate Law

Owner, Founder and Principal Solicitor of Ashby Estate Law - a law firm that ensures what you have goes where you want.

No matter the situation or circumstances, we help everyone from all walks in life. We do not believe money should act as a barrier to justice and this is why we are supporters of both private clients and charity initiatives (including Westpac Wills Week, Salvation Army Wills Days, Wesley Wills Days and many more).

During your life you might need to see a family lawyer (i.e. when exiting a relationship), a criminal lawyer (i.e. for an allegation or disproportionate sentence), and maybe even a property lawyer (i.e. when buying or selling property). But no matter what, you or your dependents will ALWAYS inevitably end up needing to see an estate lawyer to assist with planning and administration.

Our clients come from diverse backgrounds (including both blue and white collars, from hospital beds to prison cells, locals and foreigners, retail workers and Courtroom staff (including a judge in the family court), trans and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds, and more.

There are no challenges we will not meet, there is no client or matter that cannot be helped or assisted, all that we ask is that you are able and willing to get the ball rolling.

From Chris: I have worked at various firms across NSW as well as the public trustee; and as a result I see and continue to discover what works and what doesn't across both the private and public sectors respectively.

My firm was founded under a few simple principals: money shouldn't act as a barrier to justice, provide what you can to whom you can, and have either an answer or a person. Every estate administration headache is an estate planning opportunity, and I am always striving to improve documents, processes and experiences to overcome the many logistical hurdles that people face with their estate plans. From making your documents to acting on them, I am here to help!

We specialise in estate planning & administration services; including but not limited to: - Estate Planning (ie Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Guardianship, Advanced Care Directives, Binding Death Benefit Nominations, Life Insurance, Testamentary Trusts, NCAT Guardianship Division, Self Managed Super Funds, Family Trusts, Capacity Assessments, Letters of Wishes, Memorandums, Asset Planners, home visitations and more)

- Estate Administration (ie Probate, Letters of Administration, Protocol Undertakings, Family Provision Claims, Contestations, Distributions and more)

Life is uncertain. Estate plans protect you and your dependants against unnecessary stress & delays when it comes to receiving care, maintaining commitments & managing life admin.

We operate across Port Stephens and the Central Coast and can come to clients directly and cater to all mobilities and walks in life.
